ABOUT
ME!
Briana is a dancer, educator, and choreographer whose work is grounded in a deep commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive arts education. Originally from Texas, she began dancing at the age of two and trained extensively in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Pom, and Drill/Kick. She grew up training at The Diane Cole Johnson School of Dance in Dallas before continuing her education at Greater Austin Dance Academy, where she joined the company team at age seven and
remained through her graduation. During this time, she also performed with the Hendrickson High School Silver Dancers, serving in leadership roles as Junior Lieutenant and Captain, and earned recognition for her solo work at both state and national levels.
Briana continued her training at Manhattanville University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Philosophy as part of the Honors College. While in New York, she performed in commissioned works by artists including Mike Esperanza, Yoshito Sakuraba, and Michael Trusnovec, and served as Captain of the Manhattanville Dance Troupe. She has also expanded her training through masterclasses and intensives in cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, and internationally.
Now based in California, Briana works as a dance educator and arts leader across a variety of school, studio, and community settings. She has experience developing curriculum, teaching students from early childhood through young adulthood, and creating original choreography for performances ranging from studio showcases to full-length productions. In her work, she emphasizes strong technical foundations while also fostering creativity, confidence, and a sense of belonging in her students. She is especially passionate about expanding access to dance education and building programs that reflect and support diverse student populations.
In addition to her teaching, Briana continues to choreograph and collaborate with schools and studios nationwide as a guest artist. She is currently pursuing her Master of Dance Education with K–12 certification at Point Park University. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that dance is a powerful tool for expression, identity, and connection, and she is committed to helping students grow not only as dancers, but as thoughtful and confident individuals.
